LETTER FROM PASTOR TIM
2019 was an exciting year in the life of Stanwood Foursquare Church. Our goal for the year was to make room in our physical spaces, but also in our hearts for what God would do. As the Stanwood/Camano community grows, we are compelled by the mission of Jesus to make room for the NEW people God is bringing. Over 110 people met Jesus for the first time and began a journey of becoming disciples.
When Anna and I were appointed in 2009, one of the things God put on our hearts was to have a church that thought beyond itself and reach not only our community but extend to the ends of the earth.
In March, we were able to send our $1,000,000th dollar to fund global missions! Also, the Arrival campaign saw over $100,000 come in to transform lives and spread the good news of Jesus.
In this year's report, you will see all the things the Lord allowed us to do organized around our mission of Loving God & Loving People, Learning God's Word and Ways, and Living the Mission & Message of Jesus.
I am reminded that Jesus changes people's lives and what we do is so important and powerful. I am grateful for the privilege to see what the Lord is doing in the lives of people in our community.
I am so grateful for what God has done and look forward to where God is leading us in the future.

In early 2019, it became very clear that we needed to make more room for people to come and encounter the love of Jesus. Under the direction and leadership of the church council, we embarked on an audacious “Make Room” campaign where we reconfigured our current building to create more space for adults and children. During construction, we met at Stanwood High School and we saw hundreds of volunteer hours make the remodel happen and are grateful for the amazing teams that helped us do mobile church well. God was faithful and we were able to complete this project in 6 weeks, adding 100 seats to our sanctuary, and we were able to do all this without having to raise additional funds.
The Administration Building was also in need of a new roof and siding. Thanks to an incredible team of volunteers led by Jim Seaton and some generous donations we completed both tasks, preparing this building for many more years of effective ministry.

With 620 average attendance on Sunday mornings, FG Youth 150 average attendance on Wednesday nights, along with all the groups and community events, we have seen almost 80,000 people walk through our doors in 2019!
An important part of our church community is meeting together in small groups. We believe that meeting together, praying together, studying the Scriptures & caring for one another is what we are called to do & the way that we experience God’s grace and blessing in our lives. In 2019, we had 30 groups with over 50% of weekend attendants actively participating in our discipleship process.
Summer camp is a great time for kids to have fun, learn how to follow Jesus, and experience life change. This year we sent 161 students to camp. Thank you to the many leaders who gave up summer vacations to serve kids and share the good news at camp! Also, thank you for giving to the camp scholarship 5xFive campaign. Over $9265 was given to provide scholarships for students.
One of the greatest joys and responsibilities of our church is loving and discipling our kids. A team of over 100 dedicated, trained and background checked volunteers minister to our children (birth to 6th grade). Over 400 students attended kids events where the Good New of Jesus was shared and as a result 57 kids said "yes" to Jesus for the first time!
Middle School and High School students meet Wednesday nights and average attendance of Middle School was 90 and High School saw approximately 75 students weekly last year. One Wednesday at Middle School group, 2 students came up to our Middle School leader and asked “Who is Jesus?” These girls had never heard the good news of Jesus and Josh was able to pray with them and introduce them to the love and grace of Jesus. This fall, a Bible study at the High School was formed called "First Priority" where students meet before school to study the Bible and pray together. We love and believe in our Foursquare Generation students!
Every year, Stanwood Foursquare recruits interns to learn, grow, and serve as they launch out into the world after high school. Last year, we had 6 interns graduate from the one year internship.
Through the Arrival, our year-end Christmas giving campaign, we invite people to consider how to redirect some of their Christmas spending to the poor and vulnerable around the world. The Arrival 2019 received $102,565.60 which will go directly to the projects we committed to helping this year. Thank you for your generous giving!
PAPUA NEW GUINEA OUTREACH TEAM
In February 2019, Stanwood Foursquare sent a team of doctors, nurses and volunteers to Papua New Guinea. We partnered with the local Foursquare church to hold medical clinics where thousands of patients suffering from leprosy and other diseases were treated and the Gospel of Jesus was shared. |
